A little busier than usual tonight and unfortunately they were understaffed. My husband and I sat at the bar. No one else was at the bar. The bartender was very nice but not very efficient. The bar lights were very bright which I immediately noticed the last time I was here. I finally asked the bartender "why" and he honestly said he just never paid attention. He did lower them and it was great. The good was great, the prices are pretty good. Service needs worked on.

Though this was not our best experience at Applebee's, it ended well because the manager at the Myrtle Beach location was top notch! We had a server on his 2nd day on the job who was spread really thin. I watched him work tables in opposite corners of the restaurant, so I kind of understood the mistakes made with our order, like missing side items and my salad coming out after my entree. The food we did get was great. The manager adjusted our bill to an amount I was completely floored by, even though I only asked him to remove the items we did not get in a timely manner. What a wonderful gesture. Also, we made sure to tell the server we saw how hard he was working, thanked him for trying, tipped him, and left. We will return.

Wow, if I would have read the reviews before entering, I would have gone somewhere else... but I had a great time and service was good. The food was hot, the portions were the usual, except less chicken on our plates than usual, the waitress at first was dry in attitude but as the evening went on she became more pleasant, no 5 star only because of portion was less than expected.
